Born Donegal 29th January 1974. Married to Rosaleen Shovelin. Educated Mulroy College, Milford, Letterkenny Institute of Technology. Public Representative, Civil Engineering Technician. First elected 2002.

Member Joint Committee on Agriculture and Food. Member Donegal County Council since 1999. Member North Western Health Board; Association of Health Boards of Ireland; General Council of County Councils. Son of Harry Blaney TD 1997-2002. Nephew of the late Neil T. Blaney, Dáil Deputy for Donegal 1948-1995 and former Fianna Fail Minister and M.E.P. 1979-1984, 1989-1994. Grandson of Neil Blaney (FF) TD for Donegal 1927-1938 and 1943-1948.
