Born Kilnamona, Co Clare, 23rd May 1945. Married to Eileen Galvin, three sons, one daughter. Educated Ennis Vocational School, Co Clare. Public Representative and Farmer. Former De Beers employee. First Elected 2002

Member Joint Committee on Arts, Sport, Tourism, Community Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. Member Clare County Council since 1985. Long time member of Fianna Fail but resigned from party having failed to get a nomination for the general election which he went on to contest as an independent candidate. Member Mid-Western Regional Authority since 1994, Vice Chairman 2000-2001.
