Appointed spokesperson on Consumer Affairs Nov 2002. First elected to the Dail in a by-election in 1994 for Democratic Left in Cork North Central. Lost her seat in 1997 but, following merger between DL and Labour, successfully contested 2002 election as a Labour candidate. Contested 1992 general election in Cork South Central for The Workers Party. Member Joint Committee on Enterprise and Small Business. Former member Constitutional Review Committee.
