Born Cork City, 6th July 1953. Married to Bernard Lynch, three daughters, one son. Educated Blackpool NS, Cork. Full-time Public Representative, First elected 1994 (By-election). Contested 1997 general election.

Appointed spokesperson on Consumer Affairs Nov 2002. First elected to the Dail in a by-election in 1994 for Democratic Left in Cork North Central. Lost her seat in 1997 but, following merger between DL and Labour, successfully contested 2002 election as a Labour candidate. Contested 1992 general election in Cork South Central for The Workers Party. Member Joint Committee on Enterprise and Small Business. Former member Constitutional Review Committee. Member Cork City Council since 1985; Chairperson Housing and Strategic Policy Committee. Board member Southern Health Board. Member Cork City Development Board. Board member Cork Opera House.
