Cork 2nd October 1941. Married to Catherine Twomey, four sons, five daughters. Educated Ballyvourney Vocational School, Co. Cork. Public Representative, Farmer. First elected November 1982. Lost his seat in 1989 but returned to the Dáil in 1992 and elected at each election since. Appointed Vice-chairman Joint Committee on Social and Family Affairs, Oct 2002. Member of Cork Vocational Educational Committee; Southern Health Board; General Council of County Councils; South Infirmary Board of Management; Chairman of Comhaltas Cosanta Chuil Aodha; Sub Committee of V.E.C. His father was a member of Cork County Council from 1928 to 1970. Donal was co-opted in 1970 and is now the longest serving Fianna Fail member of the County Council. | |
