President Dissolves 29th DáilThe President, Mary McAleese, has agreed to a request from the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, to dissolve the 29th Dáil. A General Election will be held on Thursday 24 May 2007. The 30th Dáil will meet on Thursday 14 June 2007. Mr Ahern paid an early morning call to Áras an Uachtaráin on 29 April 2007. Mrs McAleese was due to leave at 9am for a visit to the USA. Nominations closed at noon on 8 May 2007. Polling will take place from 7:30am to 10:30pm. |
